Stephanie Fuentes, born and raised in Miami, FL, graduated from the University of Florida/New World School of the Arts with a Bachelors in Fine Arts (Dance). Ms. Fuentes trained at the Rosario Suarez Dance Academy under the direction of Rosario Suarez, Thomas Armour Youth Ballet under the direction of Ruth Weisen, New World School of the Arts/ University of Florida under the direction of Daniel Lewis and Mary Lisa Burns, and at The Martha Graham School under the direction of Virginie Mecene, Denise Vale, and Peggy Lyman.
She is a former dancer of Peter London Global Dance Company and Martha Graham 2. Ms. Fuentes is also a certified Graham Teacher and Choreographer. In addition to her prolific training, she has received outstanding recognition and reviews for her work. Ms. Fuentes has attended the American Ballet Theatre, the Bates Dance Festival, the North Carolina Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet and Contemporary under full scholarship, and the Martha Graham Summer Intensive scholarship from Peter London. Not unfamiliar to the freedom of an open stage, where the dancer infiltrates the comfortability of space and subjugates presence to their will and emotion, Stephanie Fuentes’ dominance exudes itself with every demonstration. Her professional experience ranges from participation in pieces by Martha Graham, including lead roles in the productions Chronicles, Temptation Of The Moon, and El Penitente, to works by Darshan Singh Bhuller, Peter London, Jamar Roberts, Michael Foley, and Michael Uthoff.
Imbibing from Graham the notion that “The body never lies,” and infusing it with her ideological musings inspired by the Woman, Ms. Fuentes conveys with her body the empowerment of an idea and a reality, revolutionizing authenticity and emotion like Graham herself did with Modern dance.
